Lip Blush Frequently Asked Questions

Lip Blush is a permanent makeup treatment that implants colour with a tattoo needle onto your lips similar to a tattoo. Lip Blush differs from a tattoo as the needle is very thin and only implants colour in the epidermis. This allows the colour to fade over time and allow for flexibility in colour and shape over time.
The lip blush typically lasts 1-3 years depending on each person's skin type. Touchups can be done after 1 year to enhance and boost colour when faded.

Yes, lip blush can create the illusion of fuller lips. By creating more colour at the lip line and creating a more pigmented colour overall, the lips will appear naturally fuller and bigger.
However, there is a limit to how big the lip blush can go. The lip blush can only be tattooed 1-2mm over the natural lip line. Tattooing on skin can create unnatural and uneven colour and we do not recommend overdrawing further than this border on clients.

Lip blush causes minimal pain. A topical numbing cream is applied to the lips prior to the treatment to dull the pain of the needle on the lips. In addition, we also apply secondary numbing to the lips during the entire treatment to ensure the most comfort during the lip blush procedure

Lip Blush takes about 4 weeks to fully heal. However, in terms of down time it is only about 3-5 days where the lips will appear darker and swollen. The majority of swelling should subside within 24. On day 2-4 after the lip blush treatment the colour will appear darker and bolder.
After 4 days you will notice the lip blush begin to “scab” or “peel” This stage generally only lasts 1-2 days and you should avoid peeling and picking at the skin until they natural fall off.
Your lips will look more natural after this peeling phase and may even have a pale appearance until the skin of your lips continue to heal allowing the lip blush colour to bloom over time.
