Lip Blush Healing Process: What to expect with a lip blush treatment.

What is the down time for lip blush? And how long should you expect the healing to take? The lip blush healing process takes roughly 7 days for the skin to externally heal and up to 3-4 weeks for the true colour of the lip blush to be revealed.

During this healing process, you may notice the colour becoming lighter in colour, darker along the lip line and uneven throughout the first 3-4 weeks of healing. This is due to the lip skin losing it’s translucency while healing. Once the skin is fully healed and translucent again, the colour of the lip blush embedded on the epidermis is able to show through.

Healing stages of lip blush from before to 6 days after the final touchup.

The initial lip blush will look very bright and swollen in the first 24 hours. The swelling should subside significantly in the first few hours and return to normal within 24-48 hours. The lips will also appear extremely bright and saturated. This colour intensifies on the second day. By the third or fourth day, the lip skin should begin shedding. This looks like very chapped lips and should last 1-2 days. After shedding, the lips will appear very light or muted. Within another 2-3 weeks the lip blush colour will begin to bloom, even out and settle to a soft lip tint colour.
